Transfer of Loyalties was my second contemporary romance for Silhouette Books. It is the story of Adrienne Denton, a career driven middle manager in a large national organization. When she’s asked to manage the company’s Seattle office, she’s thrilled, because she sees this as a stepping stone to an executive position in the company’s main office in New York.
Running the branch office gives Adrienne an independence she learns to value and being away from the grind of corporate headquarters allows her to have a social life she would never have had back east.
When Jared Hawkes slips into her life, Adrienne finds him fun and fascinating. He’s freewheeling and casual, far different from the driven men she dated back in New York. It’s not long before Adrienne realizes that Jared has become an important part of her life. That scares her. But what scares her more is that she thinks she is falling in love with him. For her posting in Seattle is for two years only. Then she’ll be returning to New York. Jared is a successful entrepreneur, well established in the Seattle area.
Can she follow her career path and return to corporate head office? Or should she consider a Transfer of Loyalties?
