Long ago, way back in the last century when I first started coming to the Rathtrevor / Parksville area I visited Coombs.
Back then the store that had the goats living on the roof was simply the Coombs general store. It sold food, packaged goods, and bakery products much as it does now, but the goats were an add-on, there to keep the not the main event!
Since then the area has grown to include other shopping experiences, quite a lot of them tacky and probably over priced, but the Goats on the Roof of the general store are still the reason people come and stop by. I’m not sure how I will integrate this in to my story, but hey, every kid loves odd stuff and Noelle already is a vet for weirdness. Goats on the Roof are right up her alley. She’d love them!
Why are there goats on the roof? Because the store has a growing roof and is covered in grass. The grass is kept mowed by three goats of various sizes who live on the roof for the summer.
